Just a ranting about ikemen go

Well just thinking how quickly people forget.

so many visitors on my old site gamersnatales.wordpress.com yet now not even a 1% of the users despite being the same content.

Everyone seemed to forget me Tabris, but that doesn’t matter to me since to me you are just trash i have already proven this, despite having no support i still deliver the products i promised

I wish i could have support like others that do less yet they get lot of support and money (lazy bastards get support by lazy bastards because they think they will get the hand back).

Not even bad economy, being unemployed or being rejected by the woman i love will stop me from trying to raise from the ashes.

Well currently experimenting with lot of stuff yet in a slump for obvious reasons….but is fine ..since i have always said «the best things come to fruition after seeing hell itself».

For example something i was checking was «Ikemen GO» since lot of people hyped it yet….

Sadly it doesn’t even come close to mugen engine (specially the hacked one i use on my projects).

I checked the github about the issue with the zoomed stages yet is an issue for 6 years and still open with no fix so stage will look zoomed and characters will use almost the whole screen (this looks like something beterhans will think as a fix to have it in normal resolutions) so is not good to use.

Then i found out that this thing has support for 3d stages (in a format that we used in the old days to hide is a mugen game) so went to test it and…..

2 different 3D stages tested and the same shit….a black screen.

Checked their github and forums and is not just me is almost every user that test those 3d stages,so the 3d stages look more and more as clickbait.

While some claim that is real or that you need to update the driver (typical excuse to blame the end user to avoid admitting it never worked),to me most of the so called tests or show off stages are simply mugen 1.1 stages.

But Eiton said you need the nightly versions.

Yes i am using that as well as a quad core PC Radeon R5 GPU with latest drivers yet…..it doesn’t work.

And seeing how despite requiring opengl 1.3 people complain of not working on their PC due to an error in coding (not fixed yet) that force Ikemen Go to use opengl 3 or superior is clear it will never work the 3d stages.
Certainly some users will try to fool you into thinking is perfect and it works yet using chibi characters to hide the zoomed stages issue is simply stupid and something an idiot will think (as i said to some of them we aren’t in early 2000s to use chibi chars) yet even if they try to hide the issues the reality of being a defective product won’t change at all.

Take as an example mugen 1.1 despite all the complains people are able to use it yet not everyone can take advantage of it with only a handful of users taking advantage of it.

For example this is my latest stuff.

You can see the differences between them at plain view (anzu is the same height and size as haruhi yet you can see haruhi looks bigger on the ikemen go pic) and the issues with ikemen go get crystal clear with this kind of stuff.

Here for example the trick some use on ikemen go

It will fool you to think there aren’t issues at all yet……

The truth is the chars are chibi (they look bigger due to the issue of ikemen go) so when everything gets zoomed in they look kinda normal size but is just a cheap trick, smoke and mirrors just that is not real.

Then how about some low res normal size DB chars on mugen 1.1???

wait isn’t this weird that the low res chars that are 3 sizes bigger then the chibis look small in a normal stage (those stages get zoomed in on ikemen go) on mugen 1.1.

Well you see now the biggest hurdle of »ikemen go» is to make things work properly and without issue,is kinda laughable some users are claiming is a replacement of mugen 1.1 when it doesn’t even get close to it.

Then how about same stage used on ikemen go with low res chars on mugen 1.1

despite everything still looks better and show more of the screen (is the same stage on both) with the chars being bigger (this is why i started hating chibi chars since are too small for regular mugen).

Is kinda clear that ikemen go will never be a proper replacement for mugen 1.1 until they get all the issues fixed instead of trying to get people into it using fake images with cheap clickbait to get downloads and the name more known.

Don’t be fooled ikemen go will never work as they claim,3D stages are a long dream further in the future.

While it has some good features, sadly is not enough after seeing all the issues ikemen has.

For example some will say «mugen doesn’t have a tag system» well it has as an external stuff and works quite fine (sadly some are too stupid to realize how to use it),there are several tricks as well to improve the game and make it look better so no problem at all there.

As i said before «i haven’t seen anything that will make me change to ikemen go,most of what is shown can be achieved on mugen 1.1» and this is true even if some won’t admit it.

Hope you enjoy reading this.

If you feel like giving support there is always my ko-fi.

Last some pics of other stuff i am working on is mugen 1.1.

I bet you never saw a low res char looking as good as in this project (ace vs misaka) when facing an HD char or the tag system.

Final words….

Ikemen has lot of issues that need to be fixed specially when it comes to bugs that ruin the experience (some of those fixed on my mugen games) others are simply just a miss of a novice coder.

For example is clear they follow beterhans ideas

For example according to him the way to have 16:9 resolutions is simply cut the screen to the 16:9 style (the green marked area) and just zoom out that way it will show everything and character will be proper ratio.

Yet is laughable that idea since the simple solution is stretch everything to 16:9 resolution, while the ratio could be off a bit it will still work as intended (is kinda off his math by a lot if you just notice that 4:3 and 16:9 are just multiples of the same so chars don’t look weird at all as shown by my pics which are just stretched out to 16:9)

As an extra i have uploaded the latest nightly versionjust for you so you can see it by yourself.

You will get the general idea about ikemen go and how doesn’t even get close.

>bad AI : big issue while playing alone since CPU has insane difficulty even on easy.

>zoomed stages : is obvious.

>no combo counter : still have difficulty believing this one since is a basic feature on mugen.

>opengl issues : this one is kinda hard

>black screen 3 stages : already tested it myself not working at all.

included.

>some chars to play

>some stages of blazblue 16:9 with zoom (not working as intended)

>SF6 lifebars just for show

Forgot to mention this ranting is also a lesson to don’t believe on what people post on internet even i could do it.

Well i made this fork of ikemen go that allows me to use 3d models for characters, for the moment is just a private fork because i am still testing it.
